Our Story
Doctor Drives founder Virginia Walker came to Nashville when she was 23 years old and watched the area grow into the booming city it is today. During this time Virginia observed and experienced the advent and rise of global ride services. Through a brief educational experience as a ride service driver, she learned the in’s and out’s of the business and identified a crucial need for a more simple and safe ride solution.
As a result, Ride Simply was born- a simple, hyper-local driver service that provides safe, professional, and affordable rides for local residents. Now Virginia is applying these same tested Ride Simply principles to her new company, Doctor Drives.

How it works…
Hours of Operations: 5 am – 7 pm, Monday – Friday.
After hours phone calls will be returned ASAP.
Appointments need to be scheduled 24 hours in advance.
Medical appointments are always scheduled during business hours. Because of this, our riders depend on us rather than busy family members to get them to their scheduled appointments and day surgeries by connecting them with safe and dependable local drivers.
Here’s how Doctor Drives works for our riders:
- By appointment only and requests a 24 hour notice.
- You can schedule your ride months in advance, as soon as you know the date of your appointment.
- We are hyper-local – exclusively serving the Greater Nashville area riders.
- Our drivers live in or close-to the service area of Nashville and are thoroughly vetted.
- Our Trusted Companion drivers will assist with your needs before during and after appointments and day surgeries, even if it takes all day.
- Our customers are adults 18+ of all ages in need of a ride.

Pricing
Doctor Drives is committed to being safe, professional, and affordable.
Our Trusted Companion hourly rate is $30.00 with a 2 hour minimum. A trusted companion driver will be with you for an extended period of time during appointments and day-surgeries. Our trusted companion drivers are here to compassionately assist with the following:
- Pick you up at your home
- Stay with you at your appointment
- Assist with discharge/checkout
- Assist with filling prescriptions
- Drop you off safely and comfortably at your home
